Dog-Friendly Hotels & Motels in Metro Detroit (2026)

Planning a Detroit weekend with your dog? These Metro Detroit hotels and motels welcome dogs, from downtown boutique hotels with pup welcome kits to budget motels where your first pet stays free. We list each hotel’s pet fee and size limits, and every stay is pinned on our Dog Fun Map (look for the slate-blue pins).

Before you book: Hotel pet fees, weight limits and pet-room counts change often, and many hotels have only a few pet-friendly rooms. Always tell the hotel you are bringing a dog when you book, and confirm the current fee and rules directly with them. Most hotels ask that dogs stay leashed in public areas and are not left alone in the room.

Good to know: We could not find a Kimpton or a confirmed pet-friendly La Quinta in Metro Detroit, so the budget picks here are Red Roof and Motel 6. Both have chain-wide pet policies.
